Vibe-coded with my kids, who wanted a feel-good game.
Chop some wood, light a fire and take your time.
The forest continues in every direction, with snowy mountains and walkable caves. The nearest cave is northeast of the cabin clearing. WASD moves, the mouse looks around, and left-click swings the axe. Aim at a nearby object and press E to interact. G drops what you are carrying. Shift runs. Space jumps. Hold Ctrl or C to crawl slowly near the ground. Walking through snow leaves alternating boot prints; jumping leaves no tracks in mid-air. Press 1 for the axe, 2 for matches, or Q to swap tools. Click an unlit oil lantern or candle with matches equipped to light it; E extinguishes it. There is no electricity. The hanging lanterns around the outdoor hearth hold candles. Bring wood to the stone hearth with E and light it with a match. With matches equipped, left-click a nearby chunk to light it. Fresh kindling burns for 5 minutes, small pieces for 6 minutes, half logs for 8 minutes, full logs for 10 minutes and fallen trunks for 15 minutes. In the stove these are minimum times at full air supply; lower air makes the wood last longer. Nearby wood catches after a short exposure. Burning wood chars and is consumed, including wood in the stockpile. Right-click pushes loose logs and fallen trunks in front of you. Aim toward the wood and move within a few steps.
Fell a tree with repeated strikes. Each hit carves a wedge at the point of impact. Chop the fallen trunk into logs, carry one to the chopping block and press E to place it. Split it again for kindling.
The shed beside the cabin starts with 12 logs and holds 24 pieces. Aim at the pile: E stores carried wood, or retrieves a piece with an empty hand. Take logs to the block and split them as needed.
At the stove, E opens or closes the door, or adds carried wood. R operates the door even while carrying wood. Add a log or split wood, then press F or use matches to light. Wood keeps its original shape inside the firebox. O adjusts the air supply: more air makes the fire brighter and consumes wood faster. Matchboxes on the table, window sill and outdoor bench equip matches. The stove glass and all three cabin windows are transparent. You can also interact with the matchboxes and air knob in VR.
